Frequently asked questions
Why did you set up HugaHumanoid?
We created HugaHumanoid to help make robots lovable, safe, and emotionally intelligent—because the future of technology should feel like a hug, not a hazard. Our mission is to help educate and help set new global standards for how humanoids interact with people, especially kids, blending empathy, playfulness, and ISO-compliant safety into every design. HugaHumanoid isn’t just a brand—it’s a movement toward warmth, trust, and inclusive innovation.
How can we help HugaHumanoid?
You can help HugaHumanoid by becoming a voice for safe, emotionally intelligent robotics. Whether you're a curious individual or a forward-thinking company, sharing high-quality content—articles, videos, artwork, or even memes—helps spread the word and build a global movement. Every post, share, and creative contribution brings us closer to a world where humanoids are trusted, inclusive, and designed to hug, not harm. Let’s make safety go viral.
What current standard are there for Humanoids?
Humanoid robot design is increasingly referencing existing international safety standards, primarily ISO 10218 (industrial robots), ISO/TS 15066 (collaborative robots), and ISO 13482 (personal care robots). These standards provide a foundational baseline to ensure physical safeguards, predictable operation, and safe interaction protocols. However, because humanoids are intended for unstructured environments like homes and public spaces, designers are also actively focusing on integrating emotional intelligence and user-centric features to foster essential trust and ethical interaction.
The robotics community recognizes that these current standards are insufficient for general-purpose humanoids. Consequently, organizations like the IEEE and ISO are actively developing new frameworks to tackle unique challenges. This work is expanding the focus beyond mechanical safety to include crucial areas like emotional safety (preventing psychological harm), ethical design (transparency and data privacy), and protocols for dynamic mobility in complex crowds.
Government and standards bodies worldwide, including ANSI (USA), SAI Global (Australia), and the European Commission, are shaping these emerging frameworks into regulations. The overall goal is to ensure that future humanoids are not just mechanically robust and predictable, but also become socially and ethically intelligent companions that can be safely and confidently integrated into all aspects of everyday life.
Does HugaHumanoid accept sponsors?
Yes! We’re open to partnering with companies and creators who share our mission to promote humanoid safety and emotionally intelligent design. If you're in the robotics space—or simply passionate about safe, lovable tech—we’d love to collaborate. To support our growth, readers can tip us directly via @hugahumanoid on X or visit our donation page.
We also love to have website sponsors from any humanoid companies that would love us to help spread the word, that their humanoid is huggable!
Every contribution helps spread the hug.
